About Me

Hi, my name is Lucas Kohng. I’m a Chicago-based artist and animator who lives exploring the city, collecting Pokémon cards, and creation.

I’ve been drawing since childhood and animating for six years. I primarily use Procreate for backgrounds and still images and TVPaint or Clip Studio Paint for animation. My work is entirely hand-drawn.

My animated film Penguin in a Forest has screened at 11 film festivals, including Kalakari Film Festival, Angaelica, Animex Screen, Art All Night Trenton Film Festival, Max Sir International Festival, The Chico independent Film Festival, FIFES Comedy Film Festival, and Animaekva 2025.

In addition to animation, I was invited to the Printers Row Lit Fest to speak with Dave Eggers about my zine Chicken in Oshean. I later presented this piece at 826CHI’s annual Eat Your Words gala.
